Who wants to go to the movies on the 18th?

I never did see Blair Witch Project, the whole premise of the movie seemed kinda hokey to me. On top of that, I am really susceptible to motion sickness, so that film style did not appeal to me at all.

Based on that, I'm really disappointed that the new movie coming out, Cloverfield, is shot from a camcorder perspective. However, the clips do look pretty cool and the production appears to be a lot higher quality than Blair Witch.

J.J. Abrams, the producer, said in an interview by Alex Billington:

"I want a monster movie, I've wanted one for so long. I was in Japan with my son and all he wanted to do is go to toy stores. And we saw all these Godzilla toys, and I thought, we need our own monster, and not King Kong, King Kong's adorable. I wanted something that was just insane and intense."

Who doesn't like a good monster flick eh? I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and hope I don't get sick. I'm going to see it opening day. Who wants to go? Seriously. Call or email and lets do it. If there is a midnight release I'm up for that too. I'll even travel to P-town if necessary.

Happy New Year - 2008 has begun!

For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Well, the new year has begun! A time for new beginnings, a time for hope, a time to look towards the future. What will the year bring I wonder? I've set a few goals for myself that I hope to achieve. I'm not going to bother with those pesky "New Years Resolutions"... I always seem to break them anyways.

My goal this year is to get in shape and possibly go on a trip to Japan with my sister and some other young adults from the church. It's a hiking trip and in August... hot, humid and hiking.. not something my body is used to. To better help me achieve my goal I went out with my Sis today and got a membership at the local YMCA. We'll be headed down there later tonight to begin our workouts. Pray for me, for it's going to be a challenge!

As for New Years Eve it was a great night of games and fellowship with many different people. It was a good note to end 2007 on. I started the day out by sleeping in, can't beat that! We (Mom, Sis & I) then got ready and headed up towards Trinity for the New Years Eve festivities there.

After the service which ended around 10PM Mom & Sis stayed at Trinity and rang in the New Year. I hear they even got to watch the ball drop!

I, however, decided to head over to a friends house. Travis was throwing a party in his usual fashion...

I'm not really a fan of the cheap beers and stuck with the bubbly. (Soda, not Champagne!) We played a few games of Fluxx and 1 game of Bohnanza and then it was time to ring in the New year.

After that we visited for a while and then I headed home.

I think I rolled into bed at around 4:30am... it was a long day!
