Camp Dakota - Birthday Bash 2008

Ben (June 12th), Daniel(June 20th), and Steve(June 24th) threw a combined birthday bash up at Camp Dakota. We invited all our family and friends to come up to Camp Dakota and join us on the last weekend of June (27 - 29) for some great fellowship and paintball.







Among those who came were my Mom and Dad along with Melinda. Mom went above and beyond (as usual) and provided some of us with food all weekend. Not only did she make make egg rolls earlier in the week, but she fed us Taco Salad, Hot Dogs, Pancakes, Eggs & Bacon. We are all very grateful for her help in making the weekend a memorable one. Many many thanks and much love to her for doing that.





Also joining us on Friday and Saturday was Will, Dave & Phillip. They came up and camped out at my parents site Friday night. All weekend long we had some great fellowship with one another.

Of course, when you're camping there are a few must-haves.

The fellowship was great. The food was wonderful. However... the REAL reason we came to Camp Dakota was for PAINTBALL!We played a few games and acquired some war wounds Friday Night...

On Saturday things really got rolling...
We had some more people show up to join us for paintball on Saturday. Several of Dan's friends along with Chris and his family (a buddy of mine from college) and Jay and his sister all showed up ready to play.

We ended up staying on the lower field and playing with Ben's church because it was so much cooler and less crowded than than the upper field. We had the lower, but smaller, field all to ourselves (with Ben's church). The upper field had over 40 players. Adding our 20+ players would have made it way to crowded.

Next year we'll remember to make reservations!

I bought a truck...

I bought 2002 Ford F150 FX4 from Jake's Auto a few days before he went out of business. As you can see below I no longer need to borrow Ben's rigs to tow my truck and can now go fishing/tubing whenever I want. To ceBen and I went fishing!






As usual, Ben had all the luck and caught a couple of trash fish and one nice smallmouth bass. Buddy wasn't quite sure what to make of it. However, he sure went crazy over the top-water lure I was using. I had to be real careful to make sure Buddy didn't jump in after the lure.

Yesterday was my birthday too. That was another good excuse to get out and go fishing. I've got my Mom & Sis to thank for a superb Birthday Dinner. Pictured below is my sis slaving away over the stove cooking up Moms wonderfully delicious egg rolls.

Monster Loose on the Willamette!!!

As you can see, there is a terrifying monster loose on the Willamette that has begun an all out assault on the worm population. Anglers beware! This monster is devious and disguises itself as a harmless companion on your boat... but if you're not careful you might end up with nothing but crushed and useless worms!

On to other news... Ben is vying for the "Master Fisherman" position on the "Steve Dawg Cruise" ships which are found exclusively in the Willamette valley.

Congrats to Ben on several fine Small Mouth Bass catches.


I manged to catch just one myself...

Overall we had a great day fishing with Ben, Jody, Larry and myself.

The Lord provided us with a beautiful day today. Ben and I decided to take advantage of the weather and headed off to do some fishing. Daniel came along and we all had a great time.

Kitchen & Dining Remodel

My parents have taken on a very aggressive remodel of their Kitchen and Dining rooms. The kitchen and dining room will switch places.

In the old dining room, the dutch door has been walled over, the corner windows raised, and the plaster removed in preparation for electrical & plumbing work. The floor has to be removed still.

In the old kitchen all cabinets have been removed leaving only the dishwasher and kitchen sink for now.
