Ultimate Frisbee moves back to Saturday!

Ultimate Frisbee has moved back to Saturdays, 9:30AM at the park. Apparently not everyone was available to make the early time. I heard that Katie had a morning appointment. I heard she spent the morning checking the back of her eyelids for holes. Perhaps got hit in the face with a sharp knife or something... I don't know how else someone would get holes in their eyelids.. and I'm not sure why they'd even bother to check. I'd just go to the hospital... but that's just me.

However, that didn't stop the rest of us from having a good time at Ultimate Frisbee. Well.. not "us." Since.. while everyone else showed up on time, I decided to sleep in a bit and didn't get there until around 11 or so. I did manage to get a few pictures using my dad's camera (mine broke).

Ultimate Frisbee
Kait apparently runs so fast she ran right out of her pants!
Amazing! Slow down girl!

Ultimate Frisbee
Perhaps Kait can teach Melinda how to run faster...

Ultimate Frisbee
Jey apparently wasn't sure what game we were playing and decided to do a few Jumping Jacks until he figured it out.

Ultimate Frisbee
Here you see Kaitlyn actually trying to stop herself in time to catch the Frisbee as it rolled by...

Ultimate Frisbee
Unfortunately she wasn't able to overcome her super speed and tumbled to the ground

Ultimate Frisbee
Osan proves to everyone he can "Get Down" when he needs to

Ultimate Frisbee
Not to be outdone, Jey let's Osan know he's not the only one who can jump.

Ultimate Frisbee
Charlotte, recently returned to the field after a long hiatus recovering from an injury, tries to make her comeback a memorable one by catching the Frisbee with her teeth.
Unfortuantely she failed. Nice try tho!

Ultimate Frisbee
Matthew, not happy about losing, trys to trip up Will.

Ultimate Frisbee
Matthew actually missed a pass. This doesn't happen very often!

Ultimate Frisbee
I'm not sure what's going on here... It looks like two of them are playing a mix of soccer and ultimate while Melinda is doing some kind of wierd Michael Jackson Moon-Walk-Chicken-Dance

Ultimate Frisbee
Matthew tried to block Osan... but apparently he didn't realize he was facing the wrong way.
Better luck next time Matthew! Keep your eye on the Frisbee!

Ultimate Frisbee
Osan, even with a squirrel running up his back still manages to catch the frisbee!

Ultimate Frisbee
Matthew is either attempting to block(unlikely), or patting Michael on the head for a nice try(most likely).

Fireproof The Movie - Looks like a winner to me!

So who wants to go see this movie? Maybe we can get a group together to go see it one night?

Women outside the home?

I've been a bit torn on the whole Sarah Palin issue lately. I spoke with several people about it trying to figure out why so many people who I thought wouldn't be supporters of a woman VP are actually staunch supporters of Sarah Palin. One comment that has stuck with me is this (paraphrased):

"Sarah Palin is a political leader and has many great beliefs. She is a political leader, not a role model."

Sarah Palin is not living up to her duties as a mother and wife according to scripture. Perhaps she is filling the role of Deborah? It is my understanding that Deborah's rule was a judgement on Isreal. In the video below Reverend Voddie Baucham points this out though Isaiah 3. The exact passage is as follows:

Isaiah 3:12
O My people! Their oppressors are children, and women rule over them. O My people! Those who guide you lead you astray and confuse the direction of your paths.

I have no doubt in my mind that our country is falling further and further from God. Perhaps Sarah Palin is our judgement? I don't know. I do know that Obama isn't who I want as my president. So I will pray for Sarah Palins family, I will pray for her good leadership, I will pray for our country, and I will pray for mercy.

Maybe you agree or disagree with me? I'd like to hear YOUR thoughts on this. Please, feel free to leave a comment.

Update:
I've been reading a bit more on this subject lately and have found a couple of great blog posts and thought I'd share them here.

Phootball, Phanotms, and Phrisbee

Daniel in UniformWhat are these things? Well, they are what I've been up to lately. About two weeks ago I took a short ride on my motorcycle down to watch Daniel at football practice. Daniel is the son of my close friend Ben. He did pretty well and looked good in his uniform. He sure seemed like he was having fun, even if he did have to go run to the tree and back several time because he was having TOO much fun and wasn't listening to the coach.

It was fun watching him and made for a great ride out to Albany. Afterward we headed to Bens, watched a bit of real football and had some good conversation about the Word.

A couple days later I went to see the Phantom of the Opera with Kaitlyn and Breana. We had a great time and it was our first time seeing the play. Kait & Bre had both seen the movie in the past. However, for me this was the first time I'd ever seen anything about the Phantom of the Opera.

Kait & Bre at Phantom of the Opera

P1030943P1030945Our seats were in Orch D, Row Z. So, we were a little ways back but had a more or less central view. I think we were still closer than most balcony seats. I never had a hard time seeing faces or expressions. The acting was well done and I really enjoyed the show! While scanning through the program we noticed another play: Wicked. Anyone interested? The play is in March 2009 at the Keller Auditorum in Portland.

P1030949P1030956The next Monday we played some Ultimate Frisbee. It was great (winning helps that), and we had a good time at Starbucks afterward. The next day I woke up and my foot was in some serious pain. I think I strained a tendon running around too much. I'll blame O-San since he was the one I was guarding... that guy sure can get around the field fast... not "navy diver" fast, but fast nonetheless. So, the next week I was on the sidelines. I got babysitter & photographer duties assigned to me, which was quite fun.

Music I listen to... Joe Satriani

Joe Satriani is one of my all time favorite guitarists. I recently bought one of his albums, The Electric Joe Satriani, An Anthology. One of the songs on there I've really enjoyed is Cool #9. So, with the help of a little google and youtube I've found a video of it for you guys to enjoy.

Wild Bunch

My family went to the fair the other night and we had a great time. I was even able to talk everyone into hitting up the Old Time Photos booth.
Old Time Photos
We all had a great time and the outfits came out pretty well. In fact, I've even threatened to buy mom that very dress & hat for Christmas. It would be pretty funny were I to get that exact dress... seeing as it had no back at all.

Passing of the Purse - Act II

Uh Oh... someone went and left their purse unattended at Starbucks again. Below are the pictures of the purse passing in no in particular order.
