'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
When out in the living room there was a great noise
Elvis was standing there, grinning with poise
And the next thing you know, the crowd filtered in
Laughing in merriment, asking, "How have you been?"
Soon enough, Friends and Family find their places
Geneva makes sure they have their quiet faces
Quiet filled the room, and our attention drew
To Miss K, our director, telling us what to do
Sisters, friends, solos and duets
Worship and Praise, on the heart besets
So ends the marvelous singing and the heartfelt reading
(Acquire from O-San a recording, with very little pleading)
Joy, Love, Worship and Awe in our hearts increased
It is time for the next part, a wondrous feast!
Tony and Margie, our gracious hosts, did not skimp
For the buffet was immense and varied, there was even shrimp!
Sarah was there smiling away the hours
If you look close, you can see her by the flowers
Peals of laughter, giggling and cheer
My true loves and others you could hear
Molly and Phil, and many others were here
Filling the rooms with the Christmas Cheer
But none were so bright
As Kaitlyn under the light!
Brothers and sisters around the Christmas tree
Enjoying one another lovingly and kindly
Side splitting laughter in the day
With a great big dose of Reay
Twins without twins and someone in the middle
With this rhyme, I will fiddle
Sweets, carrot cake and deserts
We try not to get any on our shirts
No more singing, fellowship or gospel
Not even any more pineapple
On this Earth, all good things come to an end
Raise your hand if you want to do this again!
Years are full and busy, always quite serried
Perhaps next year we will be.... less tarried?
With that I leave you one final delight
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night
