I'd never seen the Pirates of Penzance before. It was very entertaining, but I must admit, I missed about 1/3 of the dialog. I definitely need to watch this play several more times. It sure would be great to go see a live production of it.
Here's a clip from the production we watched:
After watching the Pirates last Friday it really renewed in me my interest in plays. I've seen a couple professional production plays over the years (Sweeny Tod & Little Shop of Horrors) and really enjoyed them both. When the Phantom of the Opera came to Seattle a few years back I was very disappointed I didn't get a chance to go.
So, I'm going to be on the lookout for some good plays. Does anyone want to go? Company always makes for a much more entertaining evening.
Here is a full listing of the theaters in Oregon. Does anyone know of a good play going on or coming soon to the Portland Metro area?
A friend of mine told me that the Oregon Shakespeare theater in Ashland is nationally renowned. The site looks really good. I think it'd be fun to go see a Shakespeare play. I've got an extra seat available in the 'stang, or an extra helmet for the VTX if the weathers nice and you're feeling adventurous.
