Hillcrest Chapel Website - Events Calendar is up!

I have been working away on the Hillcrest Chapel website and have made some good progress today. I've got the blog module working for Pastor Gary's monthly newsletter, the events calendar has been placed and events have been added, forums have been added, and the home page has been spruced up a little bit (more work to do on the home page still).

Check out the site at: http://hillcrestchapel.org/site

To view the forums you must create an account and login. To log in your account must be activated... and since it is nearly 5AM.. I won't be awake to activate any accounts until 11AM at the earliest... ;)

Cool! This is probably a really dumb question, but what are the forums for?

Forums allow you to have an online discussion.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_forum

Here is an analogy:

Imagine a Pin-up Bulletin Board. Imagine if you were to write a note with a question and put it on the board. Then, someone else came by and left a note to answer your question.

Each note is called a POST. A Group of posts makes up a THREAD.

Both those notes make up what is called a THREAD... a discussion. You can have multiple threads (discussions) in forums..

Haha! Thanks! Well.... I don't know if I completely got his gene.... I think I missed out on some of it because I definitely did not figure out how to upload websites. He taught me.. and I promptly forgot. Btw.... who am I talking to? Mrs. M?
