The Disciples 12 are blown out of the water!

We challenged the U.S. Navy's Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) & Divers to a game of Ultimate Frisbee. On Friday, August 8 at 9:30 AM the Disciple's 12, EOD & Divers arrived at the war torn battlefield in Sasebo. Others may refer to the battlefield simply as a "field," but that would not do justice to the intense battle that took place on Friday.

What transpired was a grueling and intense fight between a highly coordinated, intimidatingly over sized, lightning fast and incredibly fit team versus a tight-knight diverse team running in slow-motion.
Over the span a little less than an hour the Disciples 12 were force fed a humid and hot lesson in humility. Running across the scorching heat rising up off the shredded tires everyone from our team felt like they were running in slow motion. On the other hand, the grace and power in which our military personnel exhibitted was amazing to watch.

While we admit we were outmatched, we still managed to make them earn every single victory. All 10 of them. In a row.

The Disciples 12 was shutout. The EOD & Navy Divers blew us out of the water.
Do you see the double pun there? I can't claim credit for this one, it all Stephanie's doing.

This is the closest we came to scoring. Here you can see we temporarily replaced O-San with Michael Jordan. However... even having an all star basketball player on our team wasn't enough to overcome the EOD & Navy Divers.

The Winning Team

After the intense battle the Disciples 12 admitted defeat and surrendered to the EOD & Navy Divers. A peace treaty was signed and everyone continued to live on in peace.

Oh, poor things.... :( Well, you're still my favorite Ultimate Frisbee Team. The Navy guys did look kind of intimidating... okay, really intimidating. Hope you're still doing great!!! I love the entries....

Good job making them earn every goal they made. You must have worked hard cuz they made a lot of goals! :)
Hey, Kait, you know how when you guys were watching the bike trip videos at Thanksgiving, Mom would say, "JoAaana!" every time she saw me? (don't worry, she's not doing that for you now - she still loves me more! :P) Well, it's a "like mother, like daughter" thing. Every time I see a picture of you (I don't say "Kaaait" or anything) I seem to feel the need to point out to everyone in the near vicinity that "look, there's Kait" or "what a nut!" or "oh, look how beautiful she is!" - even if it's mom or dad standing there, who obviously know who you are! Weird, huh?
