Following the picture taking we had a Japan 12 + 2 (Sam Green & Megumi) meeting to discuss the scrapbook, sign it, and plan for the next day. Melinda and Ellen worked all night long without sleep to get the scrap book finished up. It is a masterpiece!
Jey and I began working on some framed pictures for the Huggins, Sam Green, and Megumi. O-San went to get some pictures printed for a frame and for the scrap book. Machiko and a few of the girls went on a search for bananas.
The next few hours were spent packing, getting the gifts ready, or just resting for the long day to come tomorrow.
Soon dinner time arrived and everyone, Machiko included, piled into the vans and headed to town. On our way we noticed that the Obon festival was in full swing. All the graveyards had smoke from the incense that was lit throughout the graveyard. Dinner was great, fellowship good, and then it was time to go. Again we took notice of the Obon festival on the way home. Only this time we saw a lot of lighted boats being pushed along the streets in honor of their dead relatives. Fireworks were commonplace.
Once we got back home it was time for the nightly devotions. Mr. Huggins lead us in song and worship and then we presented the Huggins, Sam Green and Megumi with our gifts. They really enjoyed the scrap book. In fact, they loved it so much that they suggested we take the scrap book home to share with everyone. We'll be sending it back with Mr. Tuss when he comes to the bike trip here in Japan with Grace Bible Chapel.
Sam and Stephanie played/sang for us one last duet. When it was over there was a great swelling of emotion and love and longing hanging in the room.
If I have time I'll try to add some pictures later...but things are a bit crazy with all the packing.
Sam, Stephanie, Tim, Machiko, Sam Green, Megumi, and Grace Bible Chapel... You will be missed.... you are loved.
God Bless!

That is a GREAT picture...everyone smiling...neat neat picture! Thanks, Mom
Sounds as if you all had a touching, memorable Sayonara party! I am glad that we will get to see that "masterpiece" scrap book that Melinda and Ellen traded their sleep to complete.
Steve, once again, thank you for your self-discipline and the sleep you missed to give us the running, pictorial commentary that we all enjoyed so much. Katie, I am so thankful that you didn't tangle with an even more ferocious jelly fish! And Will, you have the promise that the words from Revelation 4-5 will not return unto God void.
My prayer for ALL of you is that God will bless and protect you as you fly back across the sea on the "wings of the dawn." Here is a gorgeous, scenic display of God's majesty illustrating Psalm 139 for you to meditate upon as you unwind from this wonderful trip. Just copy/paste the link below into your browser and get ready for a treat.
